What happens in a Baby Yoga Class?

"The baby yoga classes have been great for me and Chloe and you made me much more confident about how to physically handle her as I am a natural worrier! You also gave me a repertoire of songs which really cheer her up and she now associates “twinkle twinkle little star” with sleep and chilling out. You also provide an environment where you can meet and make friends and I am sure that there are some people I will stay in touch with for a long time." Anna

Yoga is introduced slowly, allowing your baby to become familiar with a new way of moving and interacting. New stretches and postures are gradually introduced as the term progresses. Doing yoga with your baby means playing, stretching and then relaxing together; experiencing the benefits of tactile stimulation whilst helping to develop supple joints, strengthen the spine and enliven all the body's systems.

The class will include many of the components of classic yoga - warming up with baby massage in preparation for stretching, postures and movements that stimulate the main organs of the body and tone muscles followed by deep relaxation. As well as yoga for babies, classes include gentle postnatal positions to help mothers re-align and strengthen their bodies after childbirth. Songs, rhymes and games are all used to engage your baby in play early on, introducing an element of play will confirm to your baby that the activity is enjoyable and establish it as something they look forward to.

Classes are £40 to £45 per term, depending on venue.

Baby Massage Classes

What happens in a Baby Massage Class?

Massage and yoga are practical ways of communicating love and affection to babies. We progress from initial contact while baby is fully dressed, gradually moving on to body massage with oil. Together, you and your baby will discover how he or she likes being massaged. Individual baby massage oil bottles will be given to you for you to keep and carry on what you learn at home.

Classes are £35 per term.  Included is a bottle of full size bottle of herbal baby massage oil (worth around £7) for you to keep.
